College Scholarships For Disabled Students To Assist With Costs

College is getting more and more expensive every year. A wide range of funds have been made available pretty much to anyone in any particular situation. Disabled students are not left out of these scholarships. The percentage of disabled students going to college has grown by leaps and bounds over the past several years. The schools have taken notice of this, and in turn funds have become more available to assist these students.
There are a lot of challenges being disabled and attending college. Many of these students require special circumstances, medical visits and assistance. Due to these circumstances many scholarships have come available that focus on these special needs. One of these programs is the Ethel Louise Armstrong Foundation. This foundation is geared toward helping women with disabilities who are looking to further their education with a graduate degree. The funds are set to help support women who have the drive to want to better their education and strive forward.
If you are in a wheelchair, SpinLife is an organization that offers scholarships for a four year undergraduate college. It can be a powered wheelchair or manual one. The organization encourages higher education and wishes to assist those in need. For students that suffer from cystic fibrosis, there are scholarships available through the Elizabeth Nash Foundation as well as the Cystis Fibrosis Scholarship Foundation.
The Learning Disabilities Association has several scholarships available for people living with dyslexia, ADHD and other learning disabilities. In addition, be sure to check with the disabilitly office of the university attend for college as they often will allow you extra time for test preparation as well as exam time extension.
Also, in addition to applying for specific scholarships based on one's disability, there are also other scholarships for the general public which you'd be able to apply for to help supplement your college studies helping out with both undergraduate or graduate degrees.
