Across the United States, there are colleges and universities that offer scholarships for exceptional dancers. While not every dancer can become a star, dancing your way throughout your college career is the next best thing.
The Jessica Karrat Dance Scholarship Fund is dedicated to giving college education opportunities to individuals who want to attend college through a college tuition grant. This fund aims to give college students the chance to further their dance education or to create careers as professional choreographers and dancers.
The American Harlequin Corporation, one of the world's leading manufacturers of dance flooring materials, offers college students with a variety of dance scholarships and college tuition grants. If you want to apply, you have to be a dance student aged 15-21 years old to be deemed eligible. Also, you need to be nominated by your dance instructor before you can apply. The recipient will receive scholarships that could amount to as much as $5000 and as low as $500.
The American Tap Dance Foundation offers the Gregory Hines Youth Scholarship Fund. This program is directed towards tap dancing students who are 7-19 years old. For full-time college dance students residing in Virginia, they can apply for the Bette Carter Dance Award, a $1,000 scholarship. The applicant should maintain a 2.5 GPA or better and must be able to demonstrate financial need to be deemed eligible.
