Obama Offering Free Scholarships For Dads Who Need to Return to School
One of President Obama's big messages to all Americans is that we need to have an education past high school if we want to succeed and continue to be a strong country. And he is committed to helping us find the aid we need to help finance a college or vocational school education through the scholarships for dads and moms.
There are many men who chose not to go to college after high school graduation. Some went to work in blue collar jobs maybe in a trade that they were good at, while others maybe started a family and just had to take any job they could find in order to support their kids. Unfortunately, with this recession, many of those same men and fathers have found that the jobs they have are either no longer in such great demand or that inflation has risen to the point that their paycheck can no longer afford all the things their family needs. And if you are included in this group of men, you are left with only a couple of options.
- You can work another job or longer hours in order to make the money you need.
- You can go back to school and further your education so you can get a better job that pays more money.
If you chose the second option, you will be joining many other fathers who are doing the same thing. And many will be using the scholarships for dads to help offset the costs of a higher education.
President Obama has also increased the money you can receive for college, based on income, to $5350 this year in the form of the Pell grant. Plus plans are set to have this increase each year along with inflation. This money can also be used for a vocational or trade school too, as long as it is accredited. Plus you can also research the available scholarships for dads that you may qualify to receive. These will come from a variety of places including the school you want to attend, businesses, and even corporations.
