News is something that is needed constantly and it is also a very competitive industry. There are so many different levels of journalism to choose from. The Edward J Nell Scholarship is given to students that win either the Quill and Scroll Yearbook Excellence Contest or the Writing/Photography Contest. Recipients must also be planning on majoring in journalism. The Ted Scripps Fellowships in Environmental Journalism is a non-degree fellowship that lasts for one year. It is awarded to outstanding students and helps them to better their skills by giving them actual field training, in addition to classroom learning. The National Press Club Scholarship for Journalism Diversity is a scholarship that is given to students that will major in journalism and that will be able to bring diversity to the campus.
